Ahoy, mateys! Brace yerselves for the photoshoot of a lifetime! This be an event ye absolutely can’t afford to miss. Picture this: not one, but TWO FULL FLOORS of custom, hand-crafted sets, designed to transport ye straight into the heart of pirate adventures and mayhem! These be exclusive, one-of-a-kind sets, made just fer this event—ye won’t find the likes of ’em anywhere else. And the best part? We’ve got full access to ALL these amazin’ sets, but only fer one day!

Don’t let this chance slip through yer fingers! This event be perfect for both models and photographers of all skill levels. Ye can choose betwixt two sessions: a mornin’ session or an afternoon session, each givin’ ye three full hours of creative plunderin’. Come prepared and ready to make the most of yer time. If ye be wantin’ more, book both a mornin’ and an afternoon session for an even longer escapade!

Mind ye, there’ll be a 90-minute break betwixt sessions for a crew lunch break. During this time, everyone must clear out of the studio so we can reset the sets. Get ready fer a day of unparalleled excitement and creativity, ye scallywags! Arrr!

 

MODELS

Models, don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity! Your entry fee to the event grants you:
• Approximately 3 hours to collaborate with the talented photographers participating in the event.
• Help from a professional modeling coach! Dee Harris from iModelsNW will be walking around the studio helping models with tips and posing advice. 
• Each photographer has their own unique style, so you can work with one or all of them to capture a diverse range of stunning images!
• Numerous shooting areas, each with a different setup, providing you with a variety of images for your portfolio.
• A digital download link for all final images from each photographer you work with.
• Files will be suitable for social media, computers, cell phones, and more.
Come prepared with your makeup done and dressed, ready to go. Bathrooms will be available for wardrobe changes and makeup touch-ups. Remember, you have just three hours of shooting time with the photographers, so make every moment count!

 

PHOTOGRAPHERS

Photographers, don’t miss this exclusive event! Your entry fee grants you:
• Access to all the props, sets, and models, including our over-the-top, one-of-a-kind sets.
• Three hours of shooting time.
• Opportunity to work with up to six models!
• The ability to show off to your friends; “Yeah, I shot that!”
• Vision Makers PDX will be on-site and helping photographers with lighting and technic so you can get that perfect shot!

We will be providing these over-the-top sets. You will need to provide your own equipment, including camera, lenses, and other gear. Many sets will be lit with colored LED lights, and we recommend using this available light. However, you may also want to bring a speedlite (on-camera flash). But If you plan to use an off-camera flash, please limit yourself to one small light stand, no large light modifiers, and battery-operated strobes only. 

You have three hours to work with as many models as you can. Please remember you are required to:
• Provide a minimum of 10 images for each model you shoot.
• Upload your images via a digital link within 30 days of the photoshoot.
• You may watermark the images with your brand as long as it does not take up more than 15% of the total image.

Failure to meet these requirements will result in disqualification from future Vision Makers PDX events.

NOTE: To ensure all participants receive their images, we will download your SD card to a secure backup before you leave. You keep all legal rights to your images. This is just back-up in case you don’t deliver to the models you shoot.

FAQ

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? – The short answer is, whatever you want! Let your imagination run wild! Remember, the theme is Pirates; The Curse of The Kraken.  Immerse yourself into the theme by dressing for it. We also recommend you concentrate on your makeup and jewelry as details will stand out. 

HOW LONG WILL MY PHOTOSHOOT BE? – Regardless of which session you choose, morning or afternoon, you will have roughly three hours of time. 

HOW MANY OUTFIT CHANGES CAN A MODEL HAVE? – You may change as many times as you wish, but keep in mind you have just three hours total and there will be MANY areas to shoot with. It might be best for you to take off or add a jacket, shrug, hat, etc. Or quickly switch out a prop; something simple and fast. If you do leave to change into a completely different outfit/wardrobe, this will affect the actual amount of time you have in front of the camera. 

IS THERE A GUARANTEED NUMBER OF IMAGES? – We have asked each photographer to provide you with a min of 10 edited images each. This event is not about producing a ton of random images. It is about creating great, high-quality images. 

CAN I PURCHASE MORE THAN ONE TICKET? – YES! If you truly want a complete outfit change, or just the opportunity to have more time to work on a particular style with the photographer(s),  we recommend you purchase two tickets; one for the morning session and one for the afternoon. That will give you more time to complete anything you have in mind. – Contact us if you wish to do this.

WHAT IF I ARRIVE LATE? – This is a PRIVATE event and only people who have paid and are registered for the event will be allowed into the studio.  Due to logistics and security, the doors will be locked 30 min after the event begins and no one will be allowed to enter or leave unless there is an emergency. Please understand, that no refunds will be issued if you are late.

DO I NEED TO SIGN ANYTHING? – YES, we will have a standard waiver for you to sign when you arrive. 

HOW OLD MUST I BE? – You must be 18 or over by 10/27/24

CAN I BRING A GUEST OR FRIEND? – Due to liability issues and agreements in place, only paid participants will be allowed in the studio during the photoshoot. 

CAN I SEE WHAT THE SETS LOOK LIKE? – YES, but not just yet. These are custom-designed sets and they take months to build out. The theme and concept was developed last year. As the installation starts, we will update this website, (and email you) with pictures of what is going in. Installation will start approximately one week before the event. 

WHAT KIND OF QUALITY ARE WE TALKING ABOUT HERE? – Good Question! What we can say, is the level of creativity these sets will provide will be in line with what we did last year; CarnEvil. Here is a link to view the images from last year.
